Traditional Japanese Pattern+Adorable Cat Motifs / Made in Japan

The collection name "Someneko" (ソメネコ) is a beautiful wordplay combining "Sometsuke" (the traditional Japanese blue-and-white porcelain painting technique) and "Neko" (Cat).

Unlike standard tableware, the sleepy cat character "SHICHITA" is creatively integrated into classic geometric Japanese auspicious patterns. Look closely, and you will find him interacting with the designs — such as carrying a traditional bundle amidst a vine pattern or holding an umbrella between vertical stripes!

These deep blue-and-white designs combine traditional Japanese decorative motifs with playful cat illustrations, creating a timeless look that works beautifully with both Japanese and contemporary table settings. The collection features five shapes and 5 pattern variations, these pieces are versatile and suitable for serving side dishes, snacks, desserts and other everyday foods.

Unique Kiln Characteristic

These plates are Japanese Mino Ware porcelain. Each piece has its own character during the high-temperature firing process, so subtle variations in colour, glaze and shape may occur. Iron specks, differences in glaze density, glaze pooling and small pinholes may also appear. These are natural characteristics of pocelain ware, not defects, and give each adorable cat its unique personality and charm.
